Harry Potter & pockets on the backs of sweaters…
Filed under: I need a home — PinkSugar @ 12:16 am

I went to see Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire tonight. I loved it! They did a great job of book to movie which has to be a chore considering how long and detailed each book is.
It was sooo wierd to see Ron Weasley with muscles!!!!! Kinda made me feel like a pervert when I noticed them lol. The actors all used to be so little and kiddish looking.

Loved the effects too, especially the Viking ship rising out of the water~way cool!

I saw something tonight I’ve never seen before~the lady sitting in front of us was wearing a sweater that had a pocket on the back of it….in the middle of her shoulder blades…about the size of a deck of cards. What the hell would you have a pocket on the back of your sweater for? Like a mini back-pack? A place to hold a little snack, some spare change maybe? A ponytail rest?
Not sure who the hell thought to put a pocket on a shirt where you can’t even reach it….the mystery’s of life.

My baby called!!!!! It was soooooooooooo awesome to hear his voice!!! Gawd I love that man. =o)~
He sounded good and has been busy. There were sandstorms that knocked out the phone and internet lines for a couple day’s. Seem’s the sand is causing problems with their weapons….brand new weapon’s too. How pleasant, same shit different deployment basically. lol Praying they get the issue’s taken care of before they move to next stop on their sunny desert vacation. I’m sure they will it sounded like things were working themselves out.
Hubby was talking about a NG unit that is from his hometown. Pretty cool! Now they can talk hometown/state shit eh?

Jarhead
Filed under: Princess Bride — PinkSugar @ 10:28 pm

I just back from seeing Jarhead. I also read the book month’s ago. I’m not a huge fan of the book, it came across a a lot of whining and ego mania. I mean, if you’re such a bad ass in all walks of life wtf you got to whine about right? You’re a self proclaimed God, deal with it. =o)~ Ack! I did finish it though, so it wasn’t the worse book out there. There was something about the book that made me want to keep reading it. I was in the ARMY during Desert Storm so that had a lot to do with it I think.

The movie…I’m still a bit shocked at how MUCH wasn’t in the movie. How convieniently the storyline avoids the Marines, to include Anthony, buying whores and screwing like cooch was going to fall from the face of the earth. Avoided that all together but touched greatly on what a bunch of cheating, lying, slut’s military girlfriends and wives are. It might not have been so bad if there wasn’t so many scenes talking about that particular issue.

The ending was dissappointing too. I thought the bar scene after the funeral was something that would have been in the movie. Lot’s missing. Creative liberties….so many movies from books I think would be great if they were MORE like the book. Then again, considering the book I’m talking about, if the movie was just like the book it would have been a few hours longer and may have depressed the hell out of the masses.

The movie was a good one though all in all. I was actually surprised I liked it. Probably because it wasn’t so much like the book. The hard part about reading Anthony’s book was that it was SO depressing. I think it was a hard read for me because it would bring me down then up for just a moment then slam me down again.

I was watching the movie and in one part they were talking about signing your rights away to think for yourself when you Signed the Contract to be a Marine. Something I read that I just loved was USMC stands for U Signed the Motherfucking Contract! I so love that! It applies across the forces, I just love the word fuck I guess lol.

Where are my happy pills?!

I know it’s like and Urban Legend, but it never fails…anytime my husband deploys something big happens and I panic. Okay, so I panic at most anything but still.

My poor little furryman is not doing well. Something happened on Sunday and he has been howling (he’s a *loud* screecher when he’s scared or hurt) a lot. On Sunday I didn’t know what was wrong just that he was hurting. So I did my best to make sure he was comfortable. Then early Monday morning or late Monday….I haven’t been sleeping like normal people do so my days and nights and hours are a mess. Anyway, Monday I figured out what was wrong…well not what but where…sorta. His right front leg/right side is what seems to be hurting him the most. He was pulling his leg up when he walked and if he’s sleeping and lays on it wrong he screams.

This is one of the many things I did worried about about living overseas while my hubby was away. I can’t just hop in the car and go to our regular vet. The vet we have here is open once a month and I sure as hell don’t know where to find a good vet here. I’ll be calling around today to see what I can find of course and I’m sure someone will help me out. That’s not really the point though, I’m just stressed because normally I could have taken my baby to the doctor first thing I needed.

Add to that the messed up sleep, not hearing a word from my husband, having a kid to take care of this time around ALONE, living amongst a frickin mess of boxes/half unpacked boxes and my medication not seeming to anything more then make me feel like a slug all the time….well it’s not fricking Romper Room at my house. UGH! So much for this being anything NEAR Bosnia.

Still keeping the Lighthouse watch though, just having a mild meltdown. =O)~

The waiting…
Filed under: Princess Bride — PinkSugar @ 10:07 pm

…isn’t as bad as the wondering. Wondering what he’s doing and how his day is going. I know he’s okay, just missing him. =) The normal ebb and flow of emotion’s.

Technology has spoiled me. I guess I expected more access to phones and internet on the first leg of this journey. Bosnia spoiled me…now how strange a comment that is looking back.

During Desert Storm/Shield we didn’t have internet and phones were few and far between. But that was something we expected so it was different. Now we have cell phones, regular phones, email and instant messengers. For some reason this makes it feel even more lonely when there’s no contact.

Wondering and waiting but holding on and keeping the lighthouse watch. =o)

You Are a Sprinkled Donut
Flamboyant and flashy, you’re easily distracted by shiny things. You’re definitely a snazzy number, and you usually catch everyone’s eye in the room. And you’ve got the goods to back it up your colorful image. (Though too much of you gives people a stomach ache!)
What Donut Are You?
